Ministry

John Phillips (JP) is a seasoned ministry leader with over 25 years of experience dedicated to shaping the spiritual lives of students from diverse backgrounds. His passion lies in empowering students to make meaningful contributions to the world around them. JP has held multiple leadership roles within local churches and has been actively involved in student events at a regional level. He earned a B.S. in Religious Studies from Liberty University and a Master of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Throughout his career, JP has been a sought-after speaker at camps and conferences, as well as a creative consultant for numerous churches, schools, and organizations. He is known for his ability to deliver clear, relevant, and impactful biblical teachings, helping students to deeply understand and apply God’s word in their lives. His commitment to student ministry is evident through his dynamic communication style, which challenges students to live in alignment with their faith and to embrace the expansive nature of God’s calling. JP currently serves as the Student Pastor at Cross Community Church in Marion AR.

John Phillips is a seasoned professional in pro audio, video, and lighting, with a specialized focus on live sound engineering for houses of worship. Over the years, he has successfully designed, integrated, and managed AVL systems that elevate the worship experience, ensuring crystal-clear sound, impactful visuals, and seamless technical operations. His expertise in configuring complex sound systems and programming digital mixing consoles has been instrumental in creating an immersive and spiritually enriching atmosphere for congregations.
John’s proficiency in custom DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and advanced control systems allows him to tailor audio solutions that meet the unique acoustic needs of worship spaces, from large sanctuaries to more intimate settings. He has led numerous live sound engineering projects, ensuring that every element—whether music, sermons, or multimedia presentations—delivers the highest quality and consistency. By working closely with ministry teams, he fosters a collaborative approach to technical production, allowing services to run smoothly and worship teams to focus on leading their congregations.
John’s commitment to excellence and innovation has earned him a reputation as a trusted expert in the AVL industry, particularly within the house of worship sector. His passion for using technology to enhance the worship experience continues to drive his success and leadership in this field.
JP is currently employed with Gateway Sight and Sound, where he applies his extensive expertise in pro audio, video, and lighting systems.
